Mechanics, Roanoke: Part time openings
We are known for our mechanical expertise and we're looking to build our team. Experience is strongly preferred but if you have basic abilities as a mechanic we are willing to train.
Can perform all day to day mechanical tasks with minimal supervision/intervention.
Main responsibilities are as a production mechanic concentrating on the efficient turnaround of tuneups and other repairs. Also performs bike assemblies as needed.
Performs repair check-ins and estimates appropriately.
Able to interact with customers at level of core sales staff.
Participates in morning meeting. Comes in with ideas ready.
Reviews work load for the day either on own or under guidance of service manager.
Makes sure work area is clean, organized and ready to go throughout the day.
Performs repairs while working with customer as needed/called upon.
Maintains positive attitude even when being pulled in different directions.
Keeps clear notes on status of work in progress.
Performs check overs of completed bikes as they come up.
Thoroughly test rides all bikes.
Cleans up at the end of the day.
Spends time leaving notes, communicating. Uses the last part of the day for reviewing the day, leaving notes, planning for the next day.
Maintains real sense of urgency for delivering completed bikes by the promised time.
Willing to work overtime as needed to deliver quality product on time.
Driven to make sure bikes that are completed are 100% right when handed over for checkover.
Communicates effectively and positively with fellow staff members and customers.
Handles warranty issues and follows up as needed.
Works to stay current on all pertinent technologies.
Helps maintain inventory in the service area.

Sales Staff, Roanoke: Part time openings
Our sales staff act to guide our customers along the journey to getting all that they can our of their cycling experience. A passion for bikes is necessary but in terms of knowing the details of bikes...we can take care of that.
Solid communication skills based on empathy are a must including the ability to communicate professionally via email. Truly listening to someone's needs and responding with care and knowledge are the keys to being successful here.
The job involves lots of learning opportunities and the right person is self motivated to pursue said opportunities.
Multi-tasking is the word of the day and juggling multiple people and projects is often necessary. Follow through is key.
There's lots of computer usage both with our point of sale system and with other aspects such as use of the spreadsheets and the need to navigate vendor websites.
You'll be spending your day answering phone calls, talking with customers, assisting in the checking in and out of repair bikes, processing inventory as it arrives, working to keep the shop clean, organized and well-merchandised and staying up to date on educational and training opportunities.
